Friday at 6PM I purchased the clowns and the Tang.
Transferred in my QT tank at 11pm doing a drip for 1 hour. Everyone seemed to swim and eat fine for Saturday and Sunday. On Monday the clowns are in the lower corner of the tank all day and didn't eat, or only ate a little.

At 9pm Monday I transferred them to a second QT. I had planned to to the TTM with Prazipro method, but do I need to alter the plan or stay the course?

The Tang eats everything as fast I put it in and swims around the whole tank. The first morning, Saturday, it was the opposite the clowns ate and the Tang hid.

Also the Tang has a clear spot near the top of it's dorsal fin. Like the fin is transparent.

Question how much were clowns?
How much was treatment?

Sounds more like your doing throughout acclimation good, but changing from tank to tank to tank to tank w/o rockwork or sand, Probably wondering if took back to LFS....

Basically, if you moved 2-3 times in a week you'd be stressed.

They all look good, they find a spot and drift there.

Don't look skinny..

Chances are treatments affect the bacteria in fish, mainly does more harm than good.

If had years, and named worth double fishes price,
If spent more on fish than treatment, more worth the try..

Sometimes treatments are worst for their metabolism similar to chemo treatment.. always try holistic first.

I'm thinking flukes with the spot on the tang. You could try a freshwater dip on the tang to confirm or just go ahead with your first prazi dose on both tanks and see if they perk up.

For the clowns- any other spots, body film, tattered fins, heavy breathing, etc?
Have you checked ammonia?

Also, keep an eye out for white stringy poop.

I'd say stay the course. Appears you are doing everything correctly. If the tang has flukes the Prazi treatments on tank changes 2 and 4 will get them.

Tank raised Occs, usually never have a problem with, yet Wild caught usually bigger at store are ones with bacteria coat problems and finiky eatters

Fwiw, you can do prazi before transfer 1 & 3 also. Would get them relief a little sooner if that's what's bugging the clowns.

One u use meds must continue for any effectiveness, but did they tell you run no carbon right? To keep effectiveness of meds dosages

Notice any of the below behavioral symptoms?
  • Heavy breathing
  • Scratching/flashing
  • Head twitching/yawning
  • Swimming into the flow of a powerhead

Thanks for all the replies. I was watching them each day and I haven't noticed any of those behavioral symptoms. But I'm a total novice and untrained eye. I only notice the clowns swam all over the tank for two days, but last 2 days they don't go anywhere and won't chase food.

Hopefully this video helps.

Well I'm sure glad it's me being overly nervous.

This community is awesome with lots of help and support. I'd be totally lost without it.

So I'm staying the course, TTM and prazipro on 2nd and 4th transfer.

Thanks again.

They look pretty healthy to me. Maybe just settling in yet, but I would probably go ahead and dose prazi. Sometimes they won't eat with flukes. Prazi is pretty easy on them, and you only have to run it for 24 hours before a waterchange.

Agreed. Those fish appear to be just fine. Stay the course :)

A little more help needed for this first timer.

Here is what I've done so far.

This guys has crap hanging out for last 4 to 5 hours. And a little bit of of something over his left eye. I almost can't see the thing by the eye but it's there.

Any advise is appreciated.

The poop doesn't look quite white in the picture. Is it white to your eye? I can barely see anything over the eye so I'm not sure what it is. Possibly some type of infection.
