Morning all,
I'm using Red Sea's mature pro kit to cycle my new tank. Today should have marked the first point in which I can add fish but my test results are still too dangerous.
I have actually seen a small increase in both nitrite and ammonia between days 10 - 14.
Temp 26.5 (79.7)
pH 8.2
Ammonia 0.8 (was 0.5)
Nitrite 0.5 (was 0.2)
Nitrate 50+
Salinity 1.024
Alk 7 dkh (was 8.3 dkh) so have added coralline gro)
I did a 10% water change 12 hours before testing. I'm using TMC Eco Rock (not live rock as suggested in the RS test booklet) And live sand
Tank is new, RSR Max E 260 with sump so with displacement around 270l
Just going to wait it out. Anyone else seen anything similar. I know the Eco rock is fairly new and there are unknowns.
I have the clear sludge that I have read comes usually as a result of NO3
O4-X dosing so have reduced this for the last 4 days.
