DBM's DSA NEO 105

Well Im going to start a thread for my tank that will be here soon.
I have been trying to do some research on some of the things about
my build that i am undecided about. Many of you guys have posted in
a few threads that I have started about some of these things. Thanks
to all for the input in these threads.

So this is the list that still is not all decided:

(1) DSA neo 105 (reef ready with black silicone and black stand)
(2) MP40's
(1) Apex or Reefkeeper (probably the Apex)
...The only advantage to the reef keeper for me is that I already own a
reefkeeper lite so I would gain a 4 socket power bar for my build

(2) radions gen2 or pro well see what money looks like at that point in the
build.
(1) 40 breeder as a frag tank

(1) Sump....undecided on the sump

I have a few options on the sump
1. is 2 55 gallon rubbermaids stacked on top of eachother
2. is a 42x27x27 white tote (like live rock is in at some lfs's)
3. 75 gallon tank
The other twist on this is fuge or no fuge or cryptic with gfo?

Return pump will be a RLSS dc10000 or 12000 if its out in time
Added pump for reactors RLSS dc3000
I have finnex titanium heaters

(1)RLSS R8-U

Talked with the lfs today and was told Monday the 11th is when the tank will be here!

The layout is my tank is in the house and the sump and frag tank is in the
garage. I have a stand for these already in place left over from my 300 gallon
built by envisions.

Anybody have any thoughts on my sump choices? On my 300 i had a 120 sump and
a 75 gallon that was my fuge and my bad fish tank. Trying to keep the sump a little big
for more water . Plus ill have the 40 breeder frag tank plumbed to it.

This is the rockscape that i will be using. Its sitting on a board that is
a few inches smaller than actual from front to back and side to side. Thanks
goes out to a fellow dsa build for helping me with my rockscape!

This is the area where it is going and the rockscape mock-up
is pretty close to where it will sit. The wall directly behind it is
some wood paneling that looks like is exterior grade? I will
be replacing it with sheet rock and re-working the other two walls
at the same time. All three walls will have Wainscoting about 36" up
and some wallpaper that the wife wants. All the wood is remnants
from my 300 that took this whole space and made it so i didnt see
the crappy walls LOL. Oh and the plywood patches i screwed on the
wall to keep the cold air in the garage that is where my vents for the old tank were.

Well got news today that a tank came in today but when they uncrated it
they found that it was regular silicone instead of the black silicone that
I had ordered...

But the good news out of it is that they called dsa and they are making
a new one mon-wed and that it will be here next mon. So as anxious as
I am to get it I really dont have everything ready anyways. And they
are making it good pretty fast which is a good thing

Not many stores around are great on customer service anymore so
it was a pleasant surprise!!

Meanwhile I have started to tear parts of the wall apart and get going
on this end at least. I will post pics later when I have time.

And that was the last update that I have for now. I had this posted
on another inferior forum and have decided to move it here where maybe
can get som constructive ideas.

Plus i need to join the DSA 105 neo club!!

So the tank should be here tomorrow (Monday the 18th)

I had a huge amount of live rock that was in my 300 and had some pests that had gotten pretty bad
so I tore down the tank and nuked the rock with a friend who had some to do at the same time

Honestly that rock work is superb. Great job!

Thanks rev! I cant take all the credit my friend and i did it together (skimheavy)
Still chipping away at trying to get this stuff all in ....waiting on the tank and the skimmer
and me to have a weekend off to work on the walls where the tank is going!

Tank got here today! I had to rework the rock a bit but I put it in the tank already as
a mock up. I will post pics when Im on my lunch.:xd:

I got the stand in the house and had to wait for the little lady to get the tank!
Which as you guys know that is when the ......So... How much did this cost. LOL

Here is the stand. We almost went with a different color (the red) but we decided that would be
possibly a little to much and since the black stands pretty much go with anything thats what we went with.

DSA does a pretty cool thing with their stands they install a plastic liner type thing in the bottom inside
in case of any water issues which I thought was a good idea

Here it is on the stand!

So here it is in the spot that it will go in the end.
I still have to re-sheetrock the wall behind the tank before i get to out of hand!
The wall behind the tank is also the wall that has the garage on the other side
so I will be putting more holes in it after I fix it!

Here is the rockscape after a little re adjusting because of the overflow
being a little bigger than I thought. I actually think that it turned out pretty good
with a little less rock (I removed 7 smaller pieces)
And no the zip-ties wont be staying there Brett!

Well here's a small update fixed the side wall
And removed the wood paneling off the back wall
Now I need to mud sand seal and throw some wainscot
Up and the wife's wallpaper. Then I can start cutting
New holes in the walls lol
