Dc-6000

Just got my drains done to do leak test before tank goes in final location. I am running a Jebao DC-6000 pump does anybody know what the actual flow rate on these pumps are? It says 1585 gph but, have heard people say it is less than they say. I hooked up 3/4" clear tubing then changed it over to 3/4 pvc before it goes thru the stand. So i have about 3' clear tubing and 2' pvc. I'm running it film blast on my 75.

I have the dc-12000 and it replaced my mag 18. I have a lot more flow from the 12000. I'm now running biopellets and cal reactor off of my hard line and still have more flow then the mag18 ever did.

To my understanding it's only 600 GPH

I wanted to get the DC 6000 but I thought it would be high for our 65 sps heavy 4' clearing till the tank return. Clear tube then 2' PVC for the returningplumbing.

Any thoughts.? Should I get a 10000 or 12,000.?

I think the next size up from the 6000 is 9000.

If it is 600 then I may have to order the 9000 and keep the 6000 in case for an emergency backup. How would a person know what it really is? It sure moves a bunch of water but, I'm new so it may not be as much as I think.

The beauty of DC pumps is you can turn down/up the flow. My recommendation is get a bigger one and just turn it down to the flow you need/want. That's better than getting one that is too small. Right?

My DC pump is pumping from the basement, so I can't comment on 4' of head pressure. I can say that my Diabloe DC10500 (Jabao 12000) isn't even on the highest setting to get me my desired flow with about 14' of head.

I just can't hardly believe it is 1000 gph lower than what is spec. I could see maybe over spec by a maybe a couple hundred gallons.

Maybe I'm just thinking to much again. I only have a 75g even if it is 600 gph that should be enough. Plus I also got a RW-8 and will probably get another before it's all over so should that be enough flow for just about anything I would want to do?

Ive seen the jaebo line but ive seen alot of negative feed back on failing pumps. At this point in my build im ok with spending more to get a good quality pump thats backed by coralvue for 2 years.

I've seen many mixed reviews and I'll probably get something else in the future. I'm trying to get this build started on a budget so I went this way. I do love how quite it is and works really well. It will more than likely end up as a spare in my closet or just feeding my fuge. The speeds and feed button are pretty great. For the money I have in it if it last 18 months them out would be worth the money. I could buy 3 pumps for the price of some of them and have spares. I have a lot to learn in this hobby and sometimes it's the hard way.

Honestly your probably right. I just hate buying things 2 times. Ive been on a budget also. I have a 1000gph aqua top right now that I can hear running in my bed room upstairs! Lol

Diablo and Jabao are the same pumps. I own them both. I made the same call as you though back
When I bought the Diablo first thinking it would be a better pump.

My first dc12000 lasted about a year then the motor stopped. I always have 2 of everything for that tank just incase something goes wrong. Bought a new backup for next year if this one fails. The new one I got from Amazon this time came with the cage for the intake which is kind of nice but in most tanks like mine not needed.

I have dc 9000 on a 125 with 4' head. I run it at 50%

Had it for over a year now...very happy with it

Are they exactly the same pump? Or is there better parts. I keep hearing different things on this. Better quality on the Octo is the word on the street. The warranty is for sure better.
