Im looking to upgrade my closed loop pumps from reeflo dart/barracuda to something controllable.

Im currently looking at the Vectra L2 (3100 GPH) but Im a little worried about the 1 year warranty.

Can anyone tell me how they keep up over a few years? Or if you have another recommendation?

I’m a big eco tech fan all around including there pumps. I’ve run them for years without issues, can’t beat their controllability and ease. My customers also have never had any problems. (I work at a fish store)

Sicce sdc 9.0 I use for a return but I was always wanting to use it for a cl.
It has programs already loaded if you want random flow. Mine has been running since January 2018. Warrenty is 5 years

I've had my Vectra M2's on my closed loop for a couple years now, no issues outside of there app. Incredibly difficult to get the app to connect to the pumps. Great once you do but man I wanted to pull my hair out. Ecotech support is kindof so/so. Outside of that, two plus years running solid with no mechanical issues

I swapped out my Reeflo closed loop pump for one of the original Vectra L1's. I absolutely loved the difference. It was my first DC pump and I couldn't even tell the pump was working judging from the pump noise. From what I've seen since the L2's came out, they are very solid pumps.
After going with the Vectras ( closed loop and return pumps) I have been using Red Dragon 3 pumps for the last 5-6 years.

Just for reference in pump/flo for the vectra. I too replaced a reeflo dart return pump with vectra L1. The Vectra L1 at aournd 66 % was more than adequate replacement. I since replaced the L1 with L2. There is no noise from the L2 pump. Its dead silent just like the L1. I have never had to run these at 100%

I was an early adopter of a pair of Vectra L1’s for closed loop duty. Not only is the flow drastically lower than advertised, over the course of the past ~6 years, I have been through 5 of them, so not particularly reliable either.

I had hoped when Ecotech came under the same umbrella with Neptune Systems we would finally see the Apex control we were promised when the Vectra’s were announced. Then I would be able to implement tidal control along with seasonal changes in lighting and temperature.

If it weren’t for the periodic promise of Apex control, I would have ditched them a long time ago for Royal Exclusive or Abyzz.

I’ll give a shout out for Abyzz. Main return from the basement is an A400. At about 5-years the LCD screen on the head unit was going wonky and they couldn’t possibly have been any easier to deal with in getting it swapped out for a new one. There is value in a 10-year vs 1-year warranty.
