Ive had my eyes on some new equipment for a while now. Ive been slowly replacing components here and there, and I am now looking to replace my main pump (the return pump). I am currently using a RIO HF14. It has been a decent pump. No real issues. However it is running out of juice. It was strong for a year or so, but now it is struggling to restart after water changes and it is producing some extra heat. I have been looking at a few replacement options: first is a MAG 9.5 and second is another RIO HF14. The MAG is an obvious solution to any problems. Its a fail safe option. However, at a similar price range I could purchase a DC controllable pump. Reef Octopus makes a line called the Diablo DC pumps, and so doese Waveline. These pumps are adjustable flow and have some awesome PRO's. However, I am struggling to find a lot of reviews or opinions on r2r or Reefcentral. Is anyone running one of these? If so or if you know anyone please give me some feedback. Here are a few links to the product and what I have found so far. http://www.aquacave.com/SpeedWave-DC...mps-C1180.aspx http://www.aquacave.com/Diablo-DC-Va...mps-C1173.aspx http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...be.F1pTDuSM7sg I am considering purchasing one of these to use as my return pump. Any input would be cool.
