I found a cheap DC Red Dragon for sale. But it doesn't have a controller. Probably a bad deal lol.
Anyway, I would like to know if I can just replace it with a new power supply for its voltage and current? Is there anythingmore complex like a capacitor that would be needed? Would an apex dc outlet run the pump?

No. You need a controller. There is probably an engineering video that might help understand why. More than I’m willing to type.
