Hi All,
I would like to know for those who have DC return pumps, how often do you have to readjust the speed/gate valve to keep the water level in your tank/rear weir at the same level? I have the Red Sea E-260 with sump upgrade and have the Vectra S1 return pump. I have to adjust the speed VERY Slightly every few days to keep the water level in the rear weir area the same. I have the gate valve set right where I want it.
Thanks!

IF it is a Herbie system they are susceptible to varying water levels in the overflow box.
I never change my pump speed except for maintenance.

It has a straight drain, an emergency drain little higher than drain, and return line.

I only change speed to keep water level set, then feed mode to do water change.

A 2 drain pipe system is a Herbie system.
As I said there will be some fluctuation with water levels in the overflows, nothing to worry about.

I never change the speed on the pump. If you need to adjust it for noise that's what the gate valve on the primary drain is for. Do you have an ATO maintaining the water level in the sump? If not fluctuating water level in the sump will effect the flow rate of the return pump. How often do you clean the pump intake? Debris that can't make it through the pump guard will restrict flow also reducing pump flow rate.
