I personally like them so far.. its nice having the option nto adjust the voltage to your needs, plus gives you different modes. Feeds modes, standby, etc.
Overall probablly not needed but for a die hard reef junkie that loves controllability, will love the dc skimmers and pumps!

It would probably Work great. But I always go x2 on my skimmer.. I would look for something thats for 150-200 gallons.

Good morning all, so I placed my order today....2 Razor 120 16k w connector bar, RO Diablo DC 170 skimmer, RO Diablo DC 3500 pump and Coral Vue 500w heater, I got a very good deal from Steve at Sea Shor in Buffalo Grove. My sump from Anthony at Nano Sea Creations will be ready tomorrow. Yesterday I ordered my first piece of ART for the aquascaping from http://cerameco.com/gallery/vida-roc...shapes/arch-3/. Looks like water in the next week or so, very excited!

I use a DC pump. It really works well. It's produces less noise than our old return pump. The control of flow and feed feature is great!

Last summer I was using my mag7 and a T5 light system and had heat problems, now that I am getting the DC pump and DC skimmer along with LED lighting I am hoping I won't need a chiller on my new system.
