Never thought I would be this disappointed in a 1500 gph pump with less than 4 ft of head on a 40 gallon tank. I honestly thought I would have to run on low and still adjust the valve. No way! This thing seems to be garbage. Anybody else get a super weak jebao pump? Got it bran new today in the mail. Thank god I have an extra power head to keep the water exchanging gas because if it weren't for that I'd be screwed.

Dimension of the return tube? How is the tubing done? Many elbows?

I put some thought into last night. Tubing as follows, 3/4 leaving pump, few inches from the pump is a 1/2" valve, on the other end of the valve is 1/2" going to the tank. My thought process was to create a little pressure using the 1/2". But I think to get the flow I need to stick with 3/4 or 1" all the way to the tank. That's what I'll try today anyways.

The only elbows are in the actual piece that sits on the back of the tank which is the standard 1/2 or 3/4 barb style return piece that goes to the ball sockets in the tank.

You may have a defective unit then. Try taking it apart to see if something is jamming through impeller, otherwise start the process.of getting a replacement.

Yeah I was thinking that. I took it apart last night and didn't see anything. I hear it ramp up and down as it should and it sounds fine. I guess I'll look in to getting a replacement.

These pumps are very sensitve to too small tubes - they are not high presure pumps. To my 4000 Jebao I use 1 1/4" tubes and ball valve. 5 elbows - and I get out around 2 100 litres/hour. The height is around 70 cm. I would recomendate you to use 1 1/2 tube with a 6000 pump.

Well.... I went to 1 inch pvc. Was going to try 1 1/4 but couldn't get all the parts I needed. Anyway, what I tremendous difference. I have my valve closed half way and the pump on low and it's all my overflow can handle. The water surface is churned up and my sump water is moving great. Still a little confused at how I can shut a 1 inch valve half way and get super results but a half inch line kills the pump. Lol. Thank you for your insight. I love this pump.
