I have an even rarer Wisco Holy Grail Magnifica. $1500 you pay for shipping.

Nope for that price it looks best in your tank.

Ever since they got bought out their prices have gotten to be asinine. Have you looked at the clove polyps...$240 for maricultured...really...plus then their box fee...it has gotten a little ridiculous. But if ppl pay it they can and will do it.

If they are selling at that price I can't really blame them. Much as I like cheap corals if selling marine livestock paid my bills and kept my kids fed I would charge what the market was willing too.

I think the better question is who the heck are the people buying these for that price?

People talk about these things as if it were impersonal market forces at work. As if an algorithm decided this price.

But somewhere there is an overpaid sales manager deliberately going 'hmm this didn't cost me any more than the other anemones but I bet some sucker will pay extra for it'. And he still is somehow able to look himself in the mirror the next morning :(

AquaSD always has better and cheap nems. Seems LA/DD are having money issues with all the price increases and stricter guarantee/return policies lately.

Funny you mentioned AquaSD and their nems... They only have one RBTA priced at $158 right now. I know they sold a few more at that price recently.

They are local to me. Last year, they bought a few rainbows from me and other local reefers. I sold them mine for ~$60 each. A week later, they were selling "Home grown Ultra RBTAs" for $350-399 that looked exactly like mine! and they sold out in a few days! I was shocked! I took screen shots but can't find them now.

But yeah, nem prices have gone up A LOT and I'm selling mine now between $80-140 locally.

Wow ok.

just a few weeks go they were really cheap.

LOL I have nicer RBTA's coming out the ***** and haven't been able to give them away. In fact throwing them away as I remodel my tank.

The answer to LA in a word... PETCO! which is slowly but surely destroying LA/DD. They have been playing the game of jacking prices and then putting them on sale. A lot of what they have is even cheaper locally which is saying a lot. I have finally given up on them after getting a powder blue tang so emaciated bones were protruding (beautiful now) or I chanced a shipment a few weeks back where 3/6 dead in the box or within 24hrs. Then I had to fight with them to get an actual refund.

Dang bro, your missing out. LE Wisco Tyree SC TSA WWC RR Holy Grail mags go for twice that easy. Like, do you even reef if you don't have one?

Yup I reef. Not big and bold like some, and still learning.
Pier pressure has not worked on me since high school and that was 40 years ago.
I don't need expensive livestock to prove anything.

They keep moving the price slowly up by increasing prices 20-30% and then putting fish and corals on sale 10%-15%. I generally don't buy from them anymore. I use them more like a wikapedia for fish. I look at the pictures and info including price and then go shop somewhere else. I would happily buy from them at a fair price and expect good quality. Mark up in this hobby is to high to not get good quaility.
