Just got a second hand chiller the DD DC750 and ive noticed that once its reached its set point and shuts off, the temperature on the display will go back up quite rapidly so in my case its set at 26 degrees so itl turn on at 27 degrees as its suppose to but once its cooled to 26 and shuts off it goes back up to 27 pretty rapid within the space of a min and then comes back on. But my apex temp says the tanks only increased .2 degrees so itl show 26.2 when the chiller restarts If that makes sense lol.
I mean it's working and keeping my tank at 25.8 - 26.2 (according to apex) which Is good I'm just wondering why it isn't matching the apex on the chiller.
I thought its suppose to only come on after a true 1 degree increase to protect the compressor so it doesn't keep turning on and off?
Could anyone tell me if it's something I should worry about? I mean it's doing a good job and cooling quick So I'm just concerned about damaging it from the repeated on and off

Where is your line in and line out for the chiller located? If too close to each other, this will happen.

My chiller pulls from the filter sock/drain area and returns in the return pump section, this allows for the DT to be the buffer between the in and out of the chiller.

Yeah so mine is kind of the opposite to yours it takes water from the return pump section and returns it to the filter/drain section.

Swap those around and see what happens. With it that way, the buffer between chilled water and warm water is only whatever is in your sump.

Okay thanks that makes sense, ive swapped those around so we'll see.

Let us know how it works out. Good to have a solution posted for anyone searching similar in the future.
Didn't work out well haha
I should have known it would happen but basically the pump just drained the filter section. My tank drains from the display in to the first chamber fills it and then overflows in to the next chamber and by putting the pump in the first I just drained it.
