I want to see how many of you’re using or used DD jumpguard and how you like it.

based on my readings, it’s slightly better than the Red Sea or hardware diy.

I have 2 light mounts need to go around and see if anyone had difficulties doing that.

Also, it looks like it comes with a 1/4” netting which mostly a firefish could jump right out. Do they offer 1/8” instead?

Really nice top imo, but I cannot speak on the light mounts unfortunately. My light is mounted from the wall, and I run vortech's purely so I don't have to leave any gaps. The corners and the stabilty of the net are great. The netting is pretty tight and I don't suspect even firefish would be able to jump out. The vader'd out look is great. Make sure you have a hacksaw or better available, and also - cut from the bottm/underside of the rails upwards so you don't mess up the coating.

Cool. If the netting’s are 1/4” firefish could jump out as my friends both got couple of firefish jumped out. I have 1/8 on my 120 now and so far ok. It would be nice if you can share a picture of the netting.

I have some pictures from a random old thread here. It just looks like 1/4" bird mesh in black.

I have three kits that have made four lids total. I love them, won't go back to any other style. That said, I only have gyre cords passing through them, all my lights are externally mounted. I don't trust any lid to fit around a fixture properly without a gap. My "gen1" lid had clear mesh, the rest are black. The black mesh is much nicer in use than the clear. If you're really worried about firefish jumping, black bridal tulle could be used in place of the mesh netting. I used it previously on my DIY window screen lids. Larger fish can punch holes in it though.

Two main tanks, I split the 6' tank up as it is a frag tank and I wanted to keep jumping limited to the side I'm working on when it's open.

Frag qt tank, not a really great picture of it:

I've been using the DD Jumpguard for about a year and a half on my 6' tank. It works perfect. I couldn't be happier.

Can you share if you have any firefish size fish in and still ok?
No firefish, but had some smaller wrasses ( before they grew ).
There is 1/8" netting available. Just get the extra 1/8" netting and use it instead.

We do! Love it.

For those that has the Red Sea reefer 350, will be enough if I order the 47.25” kit as the tank measure exactly as above?
