Have a quick question. Does a 250 watt DE bulb use the same socket as a 150 watt DE MH bulb? Was curious if I could upgrade a 150 watt DE fixture to a 250 watt by just switching the bulb and the ballast?

The 250 snaps into the socket and 150s use a spring to slide/squeeze into the socket. Don't remember on the size of the bulbs though. So maybe if you bought the socket as well you could use the reflector.

nope. I had a 250W socket, and switchable ballast. I bought a 150W DE, and it would not fit.

Seems like you could buy a 250w socket cheap though, just screw it in. I'm sure it would be simple.

I just looked it up, $6 on eBay
