I was wondering how many people have De Nitrate in their filter media. So little back ground my tank which is 13.5 gallon all in one Evo it constantly sits at 0-0.25 ammonia, zero nitrite and 20ppm of nitrate. I do water changes every few days with it being a small tank. Inside my tank is a Clown Fish, turbo snail and a peppermint shrimp. I have a extra spot below the skimmer and filter media. I wanted to see if it’s worth adding denitrate to one of the chambers to help with the Nitrate level. Wanted to see what everyone thought are on this. Thanks

Just to confirm, are you saying you have high nitrite and low nitrate or did you accidentally reverse those :) One is a pretty big problem, the other is a fun switcharoo!

How long has the tank been up, your ammonia should be zero. To be effective on nitrate reduction, denitrate needs to be in a low flow spot, it is tricky to use, as when it is effective it will get saturated and leach nitrate back into the system. You need to test and change out when necessary.
