DE pool filter on 550 gallon system?

Hi was wondering what you guys thoughts are running this filter 24/7 on a 550 gallon Fowler system. its rated for a 20,000 gallon pool. Its an huge Diatom filter. LOL. looking mainly for parasite management. Thanks for your input>

There's no link or pic showing up.

So I'm gonna guess that it is a pressurized canister like others I have seen.

You can run it on your tank. How effective it will be on parasites I'm not sure.

What's the price on it?
 
I got it from a friend it’s a Pentair fns48 series DE filter. I run like 4000 gph through it. I have used a regular diatom filter with some success so I figured a huge version might work. Thanks for any input. Tom
 
Just make sure there are no metal parts inside it. DE filters can be quite effective at reducing parasite pressures - I used to use a small one to help to remove ich from a QT tank.
