DE Users Glass question

I diy Lumenarcs and will be using 250w DE's, for those who bought the DE fixture, what kind of glass came with the fixture, clear, frosted and how thick. Will be ordering glass soon and need to know what to order.

you will want it clear and with UV protection. most glass cutting company will have some in stock. just make sure you ask them for UV glass.

all glass absorbs a lot of uv so thats not a huge issue, but you want to make sure it can withstand the heat
i had a retro i made and got some regular tempered glass and it just broke to pieces, not really shatter since tempered glass doesnt shatter but you get the picture

I think you have the glass confused tempered does shatter plate glass breaks into big pieces.

Tempered glass is the way you would want to go as it will with stand the heat better IMO. since tempered is heated to make it tempered if that makes sense....
