Oh man. My first ever fish is gone. Came hime to a dead Blotchy. Just picked him up about a month or so ago. Last night he was looking good and eating. All my other fish are fine. No clue what happened. Temp did go from 78- to 80 but dont really think its that drastic. Wonder what happened.

Yeah man. He was awesome. Wanted one for so long and was so excited now hes gone. No he ain't cheap

I'm sorry for your loss. :( It could be any number of things unfortunately. Without any symptoms to go off of, it would be next to impossible to give you any ideas.

X2.

Any color loss? Swimming in to powerheads? Hiding from light? Scratching? Flashing? Cryptic behavior? Breathing heavily? White spots? Sloughing "skin"? Cloudy eyes? Strange behavior?

Nothing. He was in perfect shape lastnight. Fed the tank as usual. Was feeding a bit less past few days because of algea maybe he wasn't getting enough food. I only feed at night. He was actually out of his hiding place past few days and swimming freely getting comfortable with tank. Temp did go ip from 78 to 80 today but doubt that was a factor. Got real hot in NY today.

I doubt temperature was the killer. Was the fish in a quarantine tank or in your display?

In my display for about 5 weeks now. No QT. Didnt see anyone. BUlly him. Not much to bully though. I have 65g reefer 250 tank so. Pair of clowns, hawkfish and carpenter wrasse and an emerald crab
