Dead clownfish

Not the store directly, but if they mix wild and captive or use copper in the system or lowered salinity, they fish can go into a stress mode and some fish cannot recover for the stress. Without a full necropsy, it will be hard to tell. Only obvious signs can really help assign a cause. Sorry. That is how this hobby works sometimes. I am sorry for your loss. I just lost fish I have had for over 6-10yrs to some mysterious issue and I was heartbroken. Really sucks losing an animal.

Looking at your tests and seeing the fish I wouldn't have a clue what could have happened to your fish. No obvious signs that I could see other than what crabs pointed out. Sorry :(

Your tank is really looking nice.

If it looked like difficulty breathing , most likely velvet , usually regular water test come back clear , I try to quarantine and treat before adding new fish to system ... sorry man ...

I'm kind of leaning toward Cryptocoryne irritans. Salt water ich with secondary bacteria infections. Especially of you're saying 10 days after purchase. Ich attacks the gills and eats on the flesh of the fish from the inside out. If it was a darker colored fish you would have noticed white dots on it. Your parameters look right so i would direct my attention To temperature swings. Are you running excessive heat or air in one room? Enough to alter the temperature in your tank? It could either be heating up and then cooling down excessively or cooling down and then heating excessively. Either way could cause ich. It didnt necessarily have to originate at the pet store. It comes more less from unstable water temperature. The sad thing is, if it is salt water ich, eggs are released and drop into your substrate. It takes up to 4 weeks for them to hatch and two weeks for them to die off from no food. They will only attach to and eat the flesh from fish. This is an excruciatingly painful process for your fish and ultimately it will kill your fish. Any fish you put into your tank during this time will infect will be infected and start the process all over. Any treatment you do to the water will kill any corals ypu have. But the ich will not harm your corals. So best thing to do if possible is quarantine your fish and do not introduce any livestock into that tank for at least 6 weeks. 4 weeks for eggs to hatch and two for the hatchlings to die off. Best of luck. Were here if you have any more problems

Sorry about your clownfish:(
Oh honey it wasn't my clownfish. Thank you tho. I had got a forward from someone on the matter of why their fish possibly died and I gave my 2 cents worth of garbage. I think my diagnosis is spot on but who really knows?? Could have just been the little guys time to go. Thanks for your concern tho
