Dead Damselfish

I had a yellow tail damselfish and it was fine yesterday but today i found it half rotten at the bottom of my tank with both of its eyes missing although it was alive this morning. Any idea what might have happened to it?

but i could see its skeleton as its flesh was tearing off and both its eyes were missing. im pretty sure you have a good idea of what it looks like now...[emoji22]

The mutilation very possibly happened after death, maybe by clean up crew.

How long did you have the fish?
Did you qt it?

If I had to blame a fish, it would be the dottyback or possibly the clown (if it's big and mature).

i have had it for probably about half a year but my clown is really small

What kind of dottyback? They can be nasty.

Diadema dotty. My money would be on it, but we probably won't ever know for sure.
