dead/dying mushroom

i have a mushroom that got stung by another coral, and seems to be dying. assuming that it is, which im pretty sure that the case, is it safe to leave it and just let it die away, or will it be best to remove it, to avoid toxins leaching in the water?

It may recover, but it's entirely up to you. I've had both rhodactis and ricordea die off with no ill effects.
