Today when I got home from work I found my engineer goby dead. I was hoping to get some insight on to what happened. I’m not sure if this is the right form. So basically he was acting odd sitting out in the open and not hiding. He had some white growth comming out of his face. It was cloudy and hairy. It was almost like the mold you see growing on bread. I couldn’t ever get a good picture of it and I could never catch him to get him into quarintine. The pictures I have are after he passed and it looks like somthing was eating at the affected area. This was my first ever saltwater fish and I grew him out from an inch or two long. I’ve had losses in the past but this one was the worst for me. He was in my tank a little over a year. If I could get some insight on what happened and if it is somthing that could affect other fish that would be great. I know it may be hard with the information I have. Also all the parameters were good amonia and nitrite 0 nitrates 5 and phosphate undetectable. Temp ranges from 77-78 and salinity is at 1.025. Attached are pictures of him be aware they are a little graphic as he passed before I could take them. Thank you for any insight that you can shed on what happened.
