So I've been gone for 2 days. Came back to find random big sand hills in my tank which I assume was my yellow watchman goby, looked for my six line wrasse but nowhere to be found. Went to bed and woke up tank lookes fantastic but still no wrasse. I look into my gobys cave and find the wrasses head lying on the sand bed. No sign of a body anywhere? I don't know how long he's been dead the tank doesn't smell but it was literally just his head in the tank ( I have 3 cerith snails a huge red legged hermit crab a pom Pom crab and a fromina starfish as cuc) I also have 2 clowns a yellow watchman goby and a firefish goby.

He did have small red rashes on his side and kept scratching his sides on the glass and rocks. Had no idea what was up with him. No sign of ick or anything I just hope whatever it was doesn't kill my other animals. I got the wrasse about 3 weeks ago.

So my question is how long can it take a cuc to completley devower a fish, and if they eat it fast enough will it still cause amonnia spike?

I've removed the head as soon as I seen it.
I'll test my water just now but I was baffled at the fact of there litraly only being a head left

not long....rare is it that I ever find remains in my reef tanks...anything smaller than a fire fish I don’t even look for
Yeah, he was around 3 inches. Must have been something wrong with him when I got it as everything is doing well in the tank. I've got my starfish in the tank doing well and I know they will be the first to die if the water is bad. Done a amonnia test and all looks well my protein skimmer must be doing its job lol
