Dead Fuzzy Dwarf Lion

I have a friend who had a fuzzy dwarf lion fish die on him suddenly. He ate fine the night before and was suddenly resting on the sand bed and losing his color the next morning. Half his tail was gone and he just didn't recover. Think the hermit crab got his tail. He was perfectly healthy one day and dead not 24 hours later. Any insight I can give him?

Did they test their water? Something could have suddenly spiked. What kind of setup do they have?

What was he feeding it. Sounds like it could have been a stomach issue on something it consumed. A lot of folks buy cheap feeder fish from petsmart and the like, and those tanks are full of disease, which in turn kills the fish.
