Dead Hanna Checker...

Went to test my phosphate since I have some nasty crud growing all over my eggcrate... wouldn’t turn on so I put a new battery in and it’s still dead. Anyone have any ideas, or is it simply destined for the trash can?

Did you double check the new battery polarity?

Other than checking the battery with a volt meter or using a known good one....there’s not much you can do

I did, twice lol. There’s no sign of damage or corrosion from a leaky battery. Not sure why it just died.

I haven’t used it in like a year but it’s probably 2-3 years old.

It was worth a shot. Sometimes the simplest of solutions get overlooked. Hope you find the solution.

Ya, not sure what you can do other than replacing it. You could contact Hanna and see if they have any recommendations. I looked but couldn't find any troubleshooting information.

Is there anything jammed in the connector when you open the battery compartment

Maybe take a piece of sandpaper and clean off the contacts that the battery touches
