Hi all,
Woke up this morning with cloudy water and mushrooms that look very sad and sort of shredded:
Those were happy looking blue discosomas a few days ago
I noticed the water was starting to become a bit cloudy yesterday afternoon, and all mushrooms and toadstools in the tank were very shrunken and unhappy looking.
I tested main parameters yesterday, and the results were:
Nitrate: 3ppm
Phosphate: 0.025ppm
Calcium: 448ppm
Alkalinity: 6.8 dKH
Magnesium: 1370ppm
These results are fairly consistent with the results I've been getting for the last two months. The tank has been running for three months, with livestock in it for two.
I also tested these parameters this morning, just in case:
Salinity: 1.0259 d SG (consistent with previous weeks)
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Temperature has been between 25 - 26C the last couple of weeks as it heats up here - previously I was keeping it at 24C with a heater.
Livestock is a midas blenny, two ocellaris clowns, a firefish goby and a cleaner shrimp. The shrimp was the most recent addition, added about a week ago. Corals are mostly softies and LPS, with the most recent addition being a goniastrea added at the same time as the shrimp.
It's a 300L tank. Any ideas? Should I just do a 10-20% water change?
