Hi so starting to gather rock bit by bit because I need a lot of it . Is it ok to buy dead rock . Once I'm ready to put in tank and cycle will it then become live rock. What is the best rock to use as its goons be part of my filtering thanks guys

I've read that rock that's porous or has lots of holes are best. That way water can go through it easy and it's way less stressful to build with. All rock will become live after its cycled. Brs has nice rocks and if you have a local lfs, see if they can order a particular rock you like. Google different dry rock forms and see what 'scape you like the best and try to get that rock.

All people have different opinions but one I have is to not stack hardly any on the back wall. That way the flow can go all the way around the rocks. Post pictures when you get it going! Good luck!

Thank you that a great response cleared up for me. One other thing does it need to cured dead rock? Thank you u have been very helpful

You have a lot of choices for dry-rock, like noted above it will become "live" rock over time... Take a like here I posted this a while ago.
