Dead turbo snail

Noticed a couple of my hermits having a feast on one of my turbo snails. There is plenty of algea in the tank for them to munch on. It is a good size snail, do they just get old and die?

Yeah, but I'd be willing to bet it was something else that killed the snail though. Hermit crabs are notorious for killing snails for their shell.

I've been witness to them jumping a live snail. It isn't a pretty sight.
