Dead Watchmen Goby

had this fish for 4 days - didn’t really see him eat any food but he did make a bunch of sand piles ….
Woke up this morning. and found him dead at the of the tank, stiff and with his mouth open.

Tanks numbers seem good - and foxface, cleaner shrimp, snails and 2 clowns are all doing good.

any clue on what happened?? (Pics attached)

Its hard to tell with a dead carcass but I would look at your ammonia and nitrate readings as mouth wide open can be caused by low oxygen levels , gill flukes or infection. Fish also looks quite thin and if it was on a flake and pellet diet- diet was insufficient but can also be due to internal issues which some do get.

Diamond gobies also regularly starve in captivity. Hard to get onto prepared foods, and malnutrition can lead to a whole host of issues from disease susceptibility and beyond

+1 on the open mouth as indicating either oxygen issues or gill disease. Check the respiration rates on the other fish (non fast breathing).
