Dead wave makers

My elfux wave makers are shot, they are covered in corraline algae.

My question is should I remove them or leave them?

If you've cleaned them and they still don't work, why would you want to keep them in the tank?

Citric acid bath will remove that c.a

vinegar works as well. And take them apart to clean inside

Ive started using muriatic acid mixed 1:10 with water for cleaning, and it quickly dissolves any build up. Just make sure to rinse really really well.
I also agree with above why would you want to keep non working wave makers in your tank?

Side note: I use to clean boats, muriatic acid will take that yellow/brown stain on a white boat off and make it beautiful again!!
