Can anyone tell me how do you get the water behind the overflow weir circulating. The food and waste gets back there and its stinks as hell.
Can the water behind there cause change in my water parameters?

Thanks

The best way to keep your overflow clean is the same as your sump. Vacuum it out when you do a water change. Im not sure of your set up but you might try using a stronger pump for more water movement.

I’m not sure I know where you’re talking about. Have a picture?

Ok...what I did was adda long PVC pipe to the overflow stand pipe, cover the hole at the top to cause turbulence and that got most of the stuff and dead water to go up the overflow. .
I guess I will make part that of my maintenance and remove it when done..
