How does everyone remove this algae

Snails seem to do the trick for me. (Trochus) What your experiencing is quite normal though and really nothing to worry about. Given time Coralline algae will replace those brown spots and your rocks will be a beautiful purple color. GL.

That looks an awful lot like diatoms. They are a part of having a new tank and will disappear on their own, just have to wait them out. Then you will start seeing green and/or brown algae that is similar. Finally, you will start to see coraline start to cover that. All of these are normal and typically need no intervention to clear up. If you start getting hair algae, you will want to intervene and find the source to rid the tank of it before it becomes a major issue.

so is it unsafe to have corals in it right now and what do you mean the source of hairline alage
