Dealing with marineland and a leaky tank

Can anyone give me advice on dealing with an 11 month old Marineland on a leaky 220RR? Tank and stand were purchased together new and have pictures showing it is level. Marineland says I have to deal with the insurance company and the insurance company says they are working with Marineland but it appears that absolutely nothing is being done. Any one been there done that? Any advice?

MR dd tanks are notorious for leaks. Can u post more pictures of the tank? Where did the leak happen?

220 is not a DD tank though.

Might want to PM any of the folks here that have had to deal with warranty replacement with Marineland.

It is not a crack. The silicon came loose there. Funny thing, I posted my review on Marinelands web site and I received this message "Unfortunately your review did not meet our guidelines for posting on our site". I read the guidelines and all that I can come up with is that maybe they do not like 1 star reviews that mention a leak!

It is the silicon on the bottom seal that came lose.

Take pictures now. Here is what their insurance company asked for:
Do you have any photos with a level on top of the stand/aquarium showing the product was level on all 4 sides? Do you have any photos of the aquarium pre-accident with fish and coral? Can you take photos of the wall space behind the aquarium? Finally, do you have an estimate of the value of the lost coral?

Is it the silicone or a crack? I thought they switched to clear silicone on all the bottoms of their big tanks because black was failing? Sometime around 2016 ish

Very sorry to hear/see this. I hope the best for a decent outcome. How long was the tank set up?

Mine leaked. Didn't even bother to get warrant replacement. It was not even 8 months in use. 150g cube. The bottom brace and silicone failed. Bought a 210g replacement made by All Glass Aquaruim. Just waiting on my custom Driftwood stand to be finished.

Alot of negativity with there tanks. They are junk.

Would never recommend or buy a ML tank regardless if it is a DD or not. Too many failure threads like these. Then insurance companies get involved and no one wants to resolve it quickly which does not help the home owner / hobbyist.

Sorry to hear OP but quick question. Do you or anyone in your immediate family have free legal through their work? Or any family member that is actively practicing? May help to fire a couple warning shots to both parties as an attention getter.

Now that the shock of it happening is over I would not be so upset if they would step up and take care of it but the appear to be doing nothing and when I call for an update they dont have one.

We just had our 265 leak. We had to empty it emergently and just got rid of it. Luckily only a couple gallons hit the floor and i had the stand lined with flex seal paint. We are no longer trusting marine land unfortunately.
