HEHE!

Hey gang I need a little help! I would like to put together the a list of the most asked questions by new people to the hobby or people just getting started. All of these have been covered many times over but I am just looking for the questions at this point. So if you will please post questions that you think new people ask.

Thanks.

What is this algae?
What is the best salt to use?
How much water should I change? How often?
What should I feed my reef?
Am I ready for fish / coral?
Can I have a clown and anemone?

I'm sure I'll think of more, but it's late.

1.How much turn over rate through the sump? 2.How much flow per gallon inside the display tank? 3.How to lower nitrates and phosphates? I have alway thought it would be a good idea to have a general rules forum. Just as guideline for every one new to the hobby who are looking for info. None of the website that have to do with reefing have a compilation of all the general guidelines all in one place.

How do I know "X" fish will go with "Y" fish/invert? What are all the options to reduce my Nitrite/Nitrate? How much light is good for LPS? Softy Tank? SPS tank? What are the most popular skimmers on the market?

Why does my stuff keep dying?

What are these bugs in my tank?

How do I do a water change?

What fish goes with what?

What are these white spots on my fish?

WHAT KIND OF FISH CAN I KEEP WITH THESE ( X type of fish,# of them etc. ) TYPES OF CORALS, OR WHAT KIND OF CORALS CAN I KEEP?

How do I acclimate this (fish, coral, clam, invert)?
Do I need to dip new corals? What do I use?
Anything and everything to do with Nitrates (How do I keep them down, etc.)
Is my cycle over yet? (Do I water change during cycle? Do I keep lights on or off, etc.)?
I found this at the beach, can I put it in my tank?
What should I include in my clean up crew?
Do I need a skimmer? Which one?
Do I need live sand? Do I rinse/wash it? How do I get it to the bottom without clouding my tank for a week?
What is this think that hitchhiked in on my LR?
How much sand do I need?
Which salt should I use?

What should I test for (on a regular basis)?
What kind of water should I use for top off?
What is RO ? What is DI ? What kind of filter for RO/DI ?

These questions should be grouped into two catergories, one that can be answered with fact(what is this type of algea), and other that can be answered with our opinions(which lights are better).
