So I'm getting tired of adding a new fish and coming back an hour later and seeing him wrapped around my strainer in my overflow. I've had several casualties and I'm looking for help to keep it from happening.
My tank is 30g 36" long. My overflow is on the left side, about 6" wide with no teeth. On the other side I've got a MP 10 set to 50% max on Reef crest. My return pump is rated just over 400 gph with around a 2 foot rise to my return putting it at around 330 gph. My setup used to be different and the pump had around 3.5 feet of rise putting it at around 250 gph. I lost 0 fish in my old setup and had none ride into the overflow. Since I moved it, every fish I've added but one has gone over.
Should I cut back on my return?
Thanks!
