So I haven't had too many fish deaths but they always seem to happen overnight.
Case in point, last night I lost my Royal Gamma, he was totally heathy and eating swimming ect.
This morning he's gone, nada zip.
I have a Fireshrimp, Cleaner Shrimp Clowns, Starfish nothing weird.
Why?

Did you find him dead? or just haven't seen him in the tank this morning?
what are all your parameters. Chemistry? livestock? tank size? lights? food?
is might seem simple but it can be a complex question...

Everything checks water wise.
Quiet a few guys in the tank:
Soft Corals
Sea Urchin
Fire Shrimp
Cleaner Shrimp
Starfish
Two Black Clowns
Tail Spotted Blenny
Pistol Shrimp
Snails
Small Hermits
BIO Cube 29 Gal

The Larger Clown picks on the little one a lot, also had a few Chromis a while back that the Clown would chase, they went MIA as well.
Never saw the Clown chase the Gamma, only had the Gamma for a little over a month. Clowns have been in the tank 3 months

What can star fish you have

Nothing jumped out.
I'm sure he was eaten, but what caused his death?
Orange Starfish, in my Avtar, not sure of the name.

Look real good with a flashlight in the back chambers even remove all the equipment. My clownfish use to jump back there even with the fishsaver guard. It is hard to believe how deceptive they can be in those back chambers. I looked twice and didn't see it, wife came in and said why is the clownfish swimming in the back chamber.

I had a clownfish In the back chamber for two months In my biocube . thought It was dead . found It swimming around healthy

Same here. Once I got him out, another time the poor guy got caught in the return pump. I used to have an emerald crab that could eat almost anytime that died overnight.
