One more sorry to derail

In situations like this you need to go back to the basics and work from there. You had told us that everything checked out fine, but can you post all your parameters? Your most recent one. You said that 1.028 is your salinity reading. Though it is high, how did you get your readings? Hydrometer? Refractometer? Or a salinity monitor? Also, are you dosing? How long has the tank been setup? What kind of lights and filtration are you running? Maybe it isn't fully established yet. Please give us full details and we'll be able to determine from there.

Wow, 3 pages of this and no one has said it.
The tanks temp isn't the only thing that changed.
3 things changed in your tank.
1. You added a Refugium
2. You added a uv sterilizer
3. Your temp changed.

And here's more food for thought. Specific Gravity changes with Temp.

The problem with those is they are only accurate to plus/minus 1* C. That's 1.8*F so if it reads 80, your tank could be 78.2 to 81.8.

My very mixed reef that is very overstocked seems to prefer it around 82 degrees. The tank generally ranges from 79 to 83

man.

my tank is 1.028
my temp is 82 solid.

neither kill coral.

85+ is the start of degredation of coral.
it wont show until 87+. by that time damage is done

there are exceptions. people who keep temps really high may have clade a symbiodinium (89+ for degredation) or something of the like. they wont be able to keep a specific coral type though due to incompatibility.

salinity between 1.023 and 1.029 will also be fine.

you have other issues

at the end of the day. if you have a tight ship... 82 is great for growth without stress.

Thanks all for the feed back . So my tank is starting to become alittle bit better . Couldn't figure out the issue but I put a bag of carbon and I'm looking into a phosphate reactor
