So after having my flame angel and one of my clown died of ich (another one still hanging on but without much hope), I've decided if my last clown dies, I'm going to go fallow for 6-8 weeks to get down to this ich problem. This is easy to do since I'm going on a vacation for a month, so I won't be anxious to buy new fish when looking at the fishless tank and ruin the progress. But going fishless also mean no feeding, which means less nutrients for my corals, so how will my corals do during that time? And my cleaner shrimp and CUC? Should I still feed the tank with tiny amount of food while I'm gone?
And how long does a tank have to be fallow for the ich to completely be killed off?
What's the % that there will be absolutely no ich again if the process is done right and fish and livestock are QTed before?

Get some type of food to broadcast feed the tank.

I went fallow for 12 weeks once, and used Coral Smoothie to feed the corals and CuC. It worked out fine

+1 on getting some coral food. Also - get some Amino Acids. Dropping food in gives your tank a ton of proteins and amino acids, but without the food the nutrient level is going to plummet. Also - no fishy poo to feed your corals - so you need to replace their poo too :)
