Deciding To keep my leds or get new ones

So I had a reef tank like 4 or 5 years ago, broke everything down when I moved sold some stuff save my lights n fan ... currently I have 2 AI Vegas n an mp40 fan . Saw a video from 2018 with a guy saying he’s retiring his Vegas’s for new leds .. so basically my question is should I retire these leds n get new ones? Are the new leds that much better? or do I stick with the lights I have . Setting up a 75g reef tank, should I get a different fan also ? Also up I. The air about bare bottom tank or sand bed , any thoughts on this ? Just for fun here a pic from my last tank

The wavemaker is good as long as it works and doesn't give off any electricity or something. I would do sand as it is a massive surface for nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria (unless you are doing all SPS or something with extreme flow). If the lights work then its up to you if you want new ones. Newer lights are going to be better but its up to you.

The mp40 is fine. Theres no way it can let electricity into the tank and the dry side is the powered side.. the wet side only worry is I'd throw magnet is rusty. So I'd take it apart and inspect it.

As for the lights the Vega's are pretty old. And compared to the technology of the newer AI lights or the ecotech radions they spectrums and outputs as well as controllability, I'd replace them if you can afford to. itll only benefit you in the long run.
