Hello everyone,

I have a decision to make. I currently have a QT tank set up with inverts in there that have been in there for 55 days now. I have an order from TSM coming today of 3 fish and 15 CUC (including 2 shrimp) the rest are snails.

My question is, should I take the CUC out of the QT tank and put in my DT since it’s been 55 days (I know not full 78 day fallow period)? Or should I jsut dump my new CUC in the QT tank and start the 78 day clock over and go another 3 months with no CUC in my DT.

I don’t have a problem putting the fish directly into my DT since they’re coming from a trusted QT source (even approved by humblefish). I will watch them for a day or two before doing that though.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You may be overthinking - a little any way. First - its best not to quarantine 2 different batches of stuff in the same tank. Second - I have never QT'd a CUC or a shrimp or snails. They just go right into the display. I guess the answer I would give is - put all of the inverts (New and old) - into the display tank. If your fish are really quarantined. -put everything in. PS - what is TSM? PPS - you say in the first sentence you have an order from TSM coming today of 3 fish.... Then in the last sentence you say they fish are coming from a trusted QT source? If they are all coming from 'TSM' - then wouldn't the CUC snails and shrimp also have been QT'd if that was needed. Anyway - maybe I'm misunderstanding what exactly you're asking

Hey sorry about the confusion. I am getting an order from TSM aquatics in today (they quarantine their fish) but dont quartentine inverts. They just keep them in a fishless system for a few weeks before being sold.

My guess is that you are good to go. I think that if you have left most of your inverts in a fallow tank for 55 days - and the new ones are in fishless tanks - and your comfortable with the QT of the fish - I would put everything in the DT. OR - put all the inverts in the tank (new and old) - and clean the other tank and QT the fish for a bit - to make sure they are ok.
