So I am having a hard time deciding what I want to do. I am planning on upgrading to a 110-120ish gallon tank. Really something with a 4x2x2 footprint. Here is where my problem lies... Should I build a custom drop off, or just buy a RedSea Reefer 425XL???

The drop off tank will be slightly more expensive. I would say maybe an additional $800-1000 more. However, it would be a one of-a-kind, super duper, awesome build.

... Or I could go with a really nice tank that has everything I am looking for, and not take such a hit to the wallet.

I am having a hard time making a decision. I see the pros and cons to both.

I just don't know what to do....

Drop off. Be different.

You like the build or just want to plug it in and sitback & enjoy ?

Just something to ponder when deciding on a big tank. I'll use mine as an example. It's 60.5" x 27.5" x 27.5". I love the tank. But... There is a vast majority of the aquarium that I physically cannot touch or reach, or even see into! So plan accordingly. There are places that if something disappears into, it is just GONE... I can't imagine trying to manage a large drop off tank. I've got a a whole ton of reachy grabby things now, a drop off of large size would be an entirely different level of challenging.
