Decontaminating equipment used in QT

I had my entire tank wiped out by Ich last fall and have since set up QT tanks to try to avoid that in the future.

My question is, can you safely reuse equipment like buckets/nets/colanders/etc... in pre QT and post QT settings?

I have a tang with suspected Ich in QT right now and in an rush I used several buckets and nets that I normally use for my DT and now I'm curious if i can decontaminate them to safely reuse for my DT or are these items strictly for QT now?

I used to bleach my qt stuff between habitants, then rinse a few times for good measure.

I use bleach, then rinse a few times and wait until the smell of bleach leaves. Then it's safe to use again

Anything that touches qt STAYS qt for me.

I use red electrical tape to identify the normal tools, from qt tools.

I'm sure you could bleach bomb them aqequately, but I run a qt constantly

This too, if it touches copper or any medication I put a zip tie around the plug or somewhere identifiable so I know not to use it with anything coral or reef related

Thx, I've been told that rinsing with fresh water is enough by my LFS.

It sounds like that is not the general consensus here.

I have specfic equipment for QT but if I do reuse something and want to clean it I'll soak it in critic acid. When I've had fish in QT and things went really bad I'll throw out the cheap stuff like hoses, pvc and containers. My heaters and pumps are old items from display tanks and never go back.

rinse with fresh water and allow to dry completely is all I do. If I am reusing any QT stuff and I think it may have any signs of moisture left I sanitize with Star-San. I prefer it over bleach since any possible residual will not be harmful to the livestock. The counter argument to that is the bleach will evaporate out in 1-2 days anyway. To each their own.

I reuse stuff, just clean it/bleach it good and then let it fully air dry.

If equipment is air dried and let to sit for several weeks then wouldn't all parasites have perished? Not speaking of any medications used and would prefer to run carbon and CupriSorb once reestablished to handle any lingering affects from that. although, bleach, wash and dry probably best. Just asking for those who may not have the option to bleach then run several washes.

I typically have separate stuff for my QT but if something has to be used it gets a good bleach bath for at least a couple hours before being rinsed well and used

Soaking long-term in freshwater, and/or allowing it to stay bone-dry for a day, will kill ich. So will enough bleach.
