OK, coming from a fresh water background, I admit I'm struggling. I'm used to putting in the hardscape and fitting the plants in around it and off you go. I am finding that it has taken me ages (and about 4-5 rescapes) to be happy with my rock layout. Now I am having the problem that when I get a coral, it may already be attached to rock and doesn't fit or sit nicely where I would like to put it (or where it needs to go due to requirements), or as I have just been advised, it needs to be on the sand as it doesn't like rubbing against the rocks and I now need to move rocks to have sufficient space.
How do you guys set up your rock scapes without knowing in advance what corals you will eventually have and what they will be attached to? And I haven’t even started on frags and their little pieces of tile and how on earth do I jam that into the rocks?
Thanks
