Within the last year or 2 I've seen a decrease in growth. I've changed 2 major factors in my tank within this year. 1 I switched to Salinity. 2 Switched from T5 to LED. Has anyone else had or seen this happen?

I previously had an AquaticLife 6 bulb fixture and now have 2 Marine Land reef capable fixtures, 2 ReefBrite LED fixtures and a 350 bulb red stunner fixture.

I used IO before salinity.

Thoughts?

TBH and not to sound rude but none of the Marineland/ReefBrite are not real good fixtures for corals. You might be ok with softies but SPS isnt getting enough light. If you dont mind me asking what size is your tank you might need to look into a new light.

The marineland fixtures were free, and I know they suck. They're 1w leds though and the ReefBrite uses 3w leds. I didn't think those were too bad though. Guess I was wrong lol

From what I can see Reefbrite is okish, however still though you might wanna go back to t5s until you can get something better.

T5s give great growth, and gooood LEDs do as well. Personally I like T5s because of the good combos you can make

IMHO 200.00/year isn't bad when you get some amazing growth AND color.... Maybe use some if that growth to propagate and start a bulb fund :-)

Agreed. Also, the Marineland fixture should only be used as a night light, they suck that bad.

You know some people knock them but I would get a odyssea fixture and upgrade the bulbs that's what I have done , I've had all the LEDs you can think of. I pulled all the stock bulbs and replaced all the t5 bulbs with ati and the halide with a ushio.

Make your own Led fixture with Rapidled, they use 3w cree LED's, customize what color you want, its pretty good, I havnt had any problem with mine.
