Any recommendations on what to run in the tank? It’s a ten gallon and I have a small copperband, 2 very small Picasso clowns, and a small Swiss basslet.

Everyone is eating as of now, I plan to dose with cupramine and I have a test kit. Going to bring levels up very slowly over a few days.

Since I’m doing this as a precaution for a month, I was wondering how long I should keep the copper at therapeutic levels and if I should combine other medications at the same time to get it all done at once.

Do you have any NFG antibiotic meds on hand? It works extremely well on butterflies and angels when they develop bacterial infections.

I’d copper broad enough to address everything? I also have prazipro on hand and all the Seachem meds.

The concern is that copper, especially ionic copper like Cupramine, does not do well on butterflies. Would advise you to consider using a chelated copper like Copper Power. Here's a chart showing the trends of fish reacting to differing coppers, CP, TTM: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/fish-and-treatment-guidelines-with-chart.283450/#post-3449648

Copper suppresses the immune system and frequently the fish develop bacterial infections that can be deadly to the fish. NFG works the quickest and best with CBBs. The trifecta of Metro + Kanaplex + Furan2 works very well but not a well or as quickly as NFG on CBBs. If you see red spots/sores develop on your CBB's sides it immediately needs antibiotics to try to respond to the bacterial infection.

Thanks, ordered copper power seems to better all around so I’ll go with that. Is the seachem test kit for copper still good for that?

Highly recommend the Hanna HL Copper Checker. It's well worth the added expense when you consider the price of your fish. The accuracy is "amazing" and no more guessing at the color and no more overdosing. It lowers your stress and further lowers the stress of treating with copper on your fish.

Hmm now I'm wondering if I should just do Hypo and maybe prazipro as a preventative. The fish are all healthy, what's the point of running copper.

I do have NFG on hand.

Maybe hipo for 4 weeks to acclimate and get the fish fat and comfortable then 2 weeks on copper to address hidden velvet?

I like that hipo let’s me keep running carbon/purigen to keep the water clean.
