Afternoon all. I just recently came across this name for tanks. Whats the conscience here on them? Any problems? Well built? Give me your thoughts.
Thanks

They've been around awhile.

I'd put them in the same category as Marineland or Perfecto, but that's JMO...

Tagging for other's incite.

:)

Never had any issue with mine. I like that they have some oddball sizes and multiple configurations for each footprint. For example, the 80 gallon 4x2 comes in a version with an overflow, one without, etc.

Not a fan of their stands though. I like my tank but the trim and silicon work leave a lot to be desired if you try to compare it to more expensive and higher quality builders.

Did you go reef ready or did you drill?

I have their 4x2 80g, and for a cheap tank it's pretty nice. Mine has only been running for 3 years now so not super long term, but I haven't actually read any complaints on them personally.

Some of the Deep Blue tanks are made out of tempered glass.

You would not want to drill those.

I believe there's a chart on their website (I've found something before), I'd go look for it but I'm at work.

Not bad aquariums, but best options right now are Planet Aquariums and Waterbox

Well....if Waterbox would just move the overflow to the end of the frag tank and make it a Peninsula I would grab one. Deep Blue offers a tank with similar dimensions and you can drill it yourself.

Here is the chart provided by Deep Blue to know which aquariums are tempered and what sides the tempering is on.

Comparing Deep Blue to Planet or Waterbox isn't really fair. One is more of a budget/big box tank while those other two options are mid-high quality depending on what you're planning to spend.

What would be a cost effective tank company?

I really want a 65 or 75G with a sump but I don't want to spend $700. If I could DIY a little bit I would as well.

Deep Blue Aquariums are fairly priced imo and I will admit that Planet are expensive. Though I am setting up one of Planet's 130 US-Gal tanks at the moment and they are very heavy duty, quality 5/8" rimless tanks (crystaline specifically). DBA Rimless aquariums are roughly the exact same price as a Waterbox considering you also get the sump, stand, plumbing, and so on. Problem is, Waterbox doesn't offer custom or even tanks without the purchase of the whole kit. I'd go with Deep Blue.

I have a deep blue now, and have had a few brands like Miracles custom tanks and the generic marineland types. Deep blue is one of the best deals out there IMO, it's not top notch, but it's well above marineland with rimless glass thickness and build quality. I have nothing against marineland either, but for almost the same price point deep blues are a good deal. Now moving up quality to waterbox or others is another story, but deep blue is a great bang for the buck when you find a sale at LFS. I picked up a 34g rimless deep blue, reef ready with overflow kit for $150. Price isn't that big of factor for me when buying a tank and if I didn't think it was nice I would have no problem paying 400-500 for the same tank if I thought there was a big difference, but I don't.

I had a DB RR 60 gal cube, had no issue and it was a great tank. I especially liked their adjustable corner overflow drain height so u can control the water height in display tank.
