Deep sand bed in fuge = good idea??

Would a 10 inch or so deep sand bed be beneficial in my refugium? I would replace it every 6-8 months if needed

1) beneficial is subjective in the since that for most DSB to be (really)effective they need to be large. However, that doesn’t mean a small one won’t be of any good because it would help on a small scale.
2). no need to replace it as you don’t want to disturb them typically
