I am setting up a 90 gallon tech tank . I have a 30 gallon sump with refuge. Should i go with a deep 4 inch plus sand bed , or just go minimal ?

i have a minimal 1 1/2 inch of sand in my DT and love it. i think alot of it is preference and also depends on what type fish you are going to keep also.

I'm not a fan of DSB's, so I vote minimal. However, I'm sure you've read up on the pros and cons so you should decide what will work best for you.

I am a big fan of deep sandbeds. I have 9 wrasse's in my tank and most of them like to sleep in the sand.

Wouldn't be without my DSB. Its 330 lbs of Southdown in a 60" 100G display.

depends on what you want to keep. for an sps set up, i'd say keep it minimal. for anything else a DSB should work fine.

Why would you say keep it minimal for SPS?

The nitrate removal benefits of a DSB are especially desireable in an SPS system.
