Back in June I decided to downgrade, and I ordered a custom tank through them. I was told, that I would have the tank in 3 weeks tops. Anyway, The 3rd week came and went and no tank at my LFS. So they called them today or late last week and the guy on the phone tried to lie to my LFS and say that my tank wasnt made, and a bunch of other stuff. My guy from the fish store demanded that he tell the truth, and the truth came out, that, my tank was built but they was refusing to ship until they had some of there other cusom fish tanks that were coming to the area were built and ready to ship.

I am wondering for other people that have bought a tank made by DSA, If you have had any trouble with them?

I own a 105 gallon tank that DSA made, and I guess I should have learned the lesson the first time. As it took them a very long time when I got this tank from them. However, They do make good tanks. I am just frustrated!!

I'll tag along on this one. I am looking at their Neo 105 Rimless as a new build. But was considering getting Starphire front and a stand with side door. And e-mail direct to Deep Sea says they can do it. But I have to go through my LFS who sells their tanks. Makes me worry a little. My LFS has a Neo 105 in the store, but it has a fake rock wall and other stuff I do not need or want.

What was your original experience with DSA? And what is your 105, rimed or rimless, reef ready?

My 105 was rimmed, and reef ready. I will be honest, I love the tank,, Its good quality. I was supposed to receive a call from a guy named scott to offer me things for having to wait longer, but I dont see that call happening. This is per the LFS. They got an email from him stating this.

Your rimed 105, did it have a brace in the center, or was it clear all around? (I am up in the air about rimless).

Keep us posted on your outcome. I've not really seen any comments about DSA or any thing truly negative in my research.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. As with most custom builds they do take long but having it ready and not delivering it because they are waiting to have more product to shop to the area and there fore cut back on their expenses really blows. I hope they come through for you with a few goodies. Keep us posted.

One of my 65s is a custom DSA which was broken while being loading it onto the truck. They called and said it would take another three weeks but they gave me the two starphire end panels for free. The two free panes were worth the delay in my situation.

My tank wasnt starfire, but if they upgraded to starfire for my troubles, it would be worth it. But i doubt they will.

I have the NEO 185 and i have never seen a higher quality tank. For those who dont know. DSA started from former OCEANIC employees who didnt want to relocate with the company so they quit and started DSA.

Still debating 105 Neo Rimless or rimmed... The tank looks lovely. Keep us all posted.
Not sure if I could get Starphire or not. Let us know about the clarity. :)

The glass on the 105's rimmed or not rimmed are 1/2 thick. I have never had a starphire tank. My LFS said it would be a few 100 more for starphire.. Wasnt worth it to me, so I went standard glass.

I still have not heard from DSA. Im not going to give them much longer, before I do a charge back with the credit card.. I have already spoken to my CC company and explained them the situation, said there would be no fees and etc...

The thing that makes me mad is I emailed DSA before I purchase and asked them how long and was told 3 weeks TOPS. They have done nothing to contact me to tell me about them not wanting to ship it till there other customs are done. If they would have done this, This would already be resolved.

After all, I received a call from Scott. Turns out, DSA made the tank when they said and got it to the shipper. The shipper is the one who delayed this. It was a misunderstanding about DSA. They did there part. I am supposed to have this tank next week.

I have a DSA Neo 185g and is an amazing aquarium. My only complaint is that it is constructed of 3/4" glass so magnetic power head or frag shelves is a problem. Post some pic's when you receive it.
