So we need new lights for our 90 gallon mixed reef tank and im looking for opinions/feedback regarding new lighting/wavemaker pump system.

Currently have “Current USA” system, which is quite old and not performing as it once did (great system for beginners but Im over them, lol)

The difficulty we are experiencing is our tank is quite deep. Dimensions of the tank are 49” long, 24” tall, and 18” front to back.

Dont want something that is “astronomically” expensive but dont mind shelling out the $$ for good quality if its ACTUALLY good quality and not just expensive because of the branding.

Thanks for your time good people! Happy Reefing!

I love the look of kessils and if you arent going for crazy high light corals those would be my first pick. I run radion G5's with T5 bulbs on my 75g. You could do like 3 noopsyche v3's and probably be pretty happy if you dont want a bunch of features.

I have 2 Kessel 360s over my 90g. They work and look great. If you prefer sps dominant I'd recommend adding hybrid T5 or light LED strips.

What we currently have was used when we got it so we kinda wanted something new. We can Hang or put on the tank or mount on the wall above the tank. We would prefer something that will work w any type of corals, we’ve failed so many corals w the ****** system we currently have. Scoly, acro, monte, zoas, BTA, chalice, favia, frog and hammer corals have all perished with out the PAR depth needed in our deep tank. Preferred system that has a “feed” mode that turns the return and pump off. $$ not a factor if it does what we need it to do for a few years (5 or more, lol) THANKS!

Check your Facebook marketplace, unless your wanting new. What are your mounting options, can you hang, or ?

What price range? Also, what features do you want?

I am thinking two xr15's, two noopsyches (the double pucks; I think this would work), two kessil a360x with reef brite strips on both sides, two kessil a500x, maybe two smatfarm led's (I don't know the par numbers to be exact so I would ask around), a few led bars by orphek or quanta (great for the money) (or reef brites), or reef breeders.

TBO. Any upgrade will treat you right at the moment it sounds like it. Lol. If you want an on/off solution. I would go with t5 fixture.

For Led's. Work with some lfs to see what they have on displays etc to see if you like the spectrum and asthetics.. there are so many options and most all will work for you.

If you go with led's and you are not hands on....you may want to pick a manufacturer with custom presets to take out the guess work.

Pardon me, but 24" is shallow tank... ;)

Aka standard tank depth for me... I was thinking 30-40" deep....

Bigger issue is coverage with leds at 49" lenght, than lighting 24" deep tank.
